Mobile Locksmith Serving Valley Park and the Meramec Valley

Locks R Us Locksmith covers Valley Park, from the older blocks around Benton and Front Streets out to Marshall Road, Vance Road and the Highway 141 corridor. We work for homeowners, landlords and small businesses on lockouts, rekeying, lock repair, lock replacement and new hardware. When you are stuck outside, opening a door you are shut out of comes before anything else, and the same run takes in the streets just across the river in Fenton.

We are a mobile service, so we come to the property. Call (636) 628-7803, describe the door and the lock, and we will tell you what is realistic for your address today. We are open every day from 8 AM to 10 PM, and same-day service is often available.

Lock Work in a River Town

Valley Park sits low against the Meramec, and the weather here shows up in the doors. Wood swells through a damp spring and shrinks again by late summer, so a deadbolt that turned easily in March can need a shove by June. Many of the houses are older than the subdivisions further west, which means original frames, softer timber and hardware that has been through several owners. Before we suggest anything we look at the door and the lock together, then put every door back on a key you control where the hardware is sound, repair what can be brought back into service, and replace only when the lock is worn, damaged or no longer doing the job you want.

The rest of our work here runs across homes, rental units and business premises: entry assistance, lock changes, key control and a keypad or smart lock on a door that actually suits one. For vehicles we unlock only. We do not cut car keys, program fobs or transponders, or touch ignitions and immobilizers. Valley Park is close to our Ballwin base, so travel time is usually short, but it still depends on what is already booked.

What We Do in Valley Park

Home Lockouts and Entry Assistance

Locked out of a Valley Park house or apartment, call with the address and tell us what is on the door, a knob, a deadbolt or both. Some of the older streets here have narrow access and shared drives, so any parking detail helps us get to you quickly. We explain what we are going to do before we start, and the aim is always to open the door without damaging hardware that does not need replacing. Here is how our lockout call-out works.

Rekeying After a Move or a Lost Key

Rekeying is the usual answer when you have just moved in, lost a key, or handed one to somebody you no longer want holding it. The lock body stays on the door and only the working key changes, and where the hardware matches we can normally bring the front door, back door and side entry onto a single key. More on what rekeying involves.

Residential Lock Changes

Sometimes the hardware itself is the problem, worn, dated, or lighter than you want on an outside door. We measure the backset and check how the door is prepared, then fit a replacement that suits it rather than forcing a lock into a hole it was never cut for. More on changing a residential lock.

Lock Repair and New Hardware

A key that grinds, a cylinder that spins loose, a latch that misses the strike, none of these automatically mean a new lock. On older Valley Park doors the fault is often the door rather than the lock, so we check both. More on our repair and installation work.

Commercial Lock Service Off Highway 141

The businesses along Marshall Road, Meramec Station Road and the Interstate 44 frontage call us for rekeying, door hardware, lock repair and keycard or badge door-entry systems. We start with which doors matter and who needs to get through them, so the result fits how the premises is actually run. More on our commercial lock service.

Smart Lock Installation and Setup

Keypad and app-controlled locks work well when family, a cleaner or a contractor needs to get in without a key under the mat. The catch is fit, an older or slightly warped door will fight a smart lock, so we check the door first and say plainly if it needs work before the hardware goes on. More on fitting a smart lock.

Valley Park Areas We Cover

  • Downtown Valley Park, Benton Street and Front Street
  • Marshall Road
  • Vance Road
  • Meramec Station Road
  • The Highway 141 corridor
  • Peerless Park and the Interstate 44 frontage

Valley Park addresses fall under ZIP code 63088. Streets on the edges can carry a Fenton, Manchester or Ballwin mailing address even though they sit here, so give us the street and we will sort out the rest.

Local Landmarks We Work Near

  • Simpson Park — 206 acres with a 72-acre fishing lake, a playground, trails and picnic shelters on Marshall Road, run by St. Louis County Parks.
  • The Meramec levee and Arnold’s Grove Trailhead — the paved River Trail runs along the top of the levee, one of several parks and trails kept by the City of Valley Park.
  • Meramec Landing Park — the boat ramp and river access at the end of the trail.
  • The Frisco Train Store on Front Street — the old Frisco Hotel building, and a reminder of how much older the downtown blocks are than the rest of the city.
  • Lone Elk County Park — on the far side of Interstate 44, still inside the city limits.

What Valley Park Jobs Usually Involve

More than anywhere else we cover, the jobs here come back to moisture and movement. A door that has taken on damp does not close the way it did, the latch stops meeting the strike squarely, and the lock gets blamed for it. Forcing the key in that situation is what turns a small adjustment into a broken cylinder. If the key has started to feel tight, it is worth a look before it snaps.

Properties near the river also carry a longer memory of high water, and hardware that has been wet once behaves differently afterwards. We have written separately about what high water does to doors and locks and how to tell a door fault from a lock fault. The second regular job is straightforward key control, new owners and new tenants who want the old keys to stop working, which is a single visit rather than a full set of new locks.

We are licensed and insured, mobile only, and based in Ballwin, so there is no shop to visit. If your street sits on the boundary it is worth checking the wider area we travel, and we are regularly up in Kirkwood at the other end of the greenway trail. Vehicle work is unlocking only. Open daily, 8 AM to 10 PM.

Valley Park Locksmith Questions

Do you cover all of Valley Park?

Yes. We work across the whole city, from the downtown blocks around Benton Street out to Marshall Road, Vance Road, the Highway 141 corridor and the Peerless Park area. Give us the street name when you call and we will confirm straight away.

What hours can I call?

Locks R Us Locksmith is open every day from 8 AM to 10 PM. Call (636) 628-7803 and we will tell you what we can do for your address and when.

My door swelled up and now the deadbolt will not turn. Is the lock broken?

Usually not. When a door takes on damp it sits differently in the frame and the bolt no longer lines up with the strike, which feels exactly like a failing lock. The fix is often an adjustment rather than new hardware. Stop forcing the key, because that is how cylinders get damaged, and call us to look at it.

I have just bought a house here. Should I rekey it?

It is the sensible first job. Nobody can say how many copies of the old key are still out there after a sale, and rekeying changes which key works without replacing the lock bodies. Several doors can usually be brought onto one key in the same visit.

Can you rekey a rental unit between tenants?

Yes, and we do it often for Valley Park landlords. Where the existing hardware is compatible we can rekey the unit so the last tenant’s keys stop working, and keep a separate key for the owner if that is how the property is managed. If the hardware is past it, a lock change may work out better.

Will a smart lock fit an older Valley Park door?

Often yes, but not always. Smart locks need the door to close squarely, so on an older or slightly warped door we check the fit first and tell you honestly if the door needs attention before the lock goes on. Fitting one to a door that is already fighting you leads to a motor that jams.

Can you unlock a car in Valley Park?

We provide vehicle unlocking only. We do not cut or replace car keys, program transponders or fobs, or work on ignitions and immobilizer systems.
