Florissant is quite a mixed place for a suburb. Old Town still has the street pattern from the Spanish days and the buildings around it go back to the 1819 convent and the 1821 church at Old St. Ferdinand Shrine. A mile or so away are the subdivisions that were all built at the same time during the great North County building boom, street upon street of them all built to the same plan.

That gives us two completely different jobs. On the older properties we’re working around hardware that we’d quite rightly want to keep, where repair and adjustment will generally be the better option than replacement. On the boom era streets the locks are all the same age so when one of them starts to stick you know the others are not too far behind and it often makes more sense to just replace the whole lot at once rather than go door to door. The vast majority of Florissant calls are down to one of two things really: keys that have gone missing, or hardware that has simply worn out after years and years of daily use.
